gary wert 

Gary Wert (President)

 

Gary began his career in the Life and Health insurance business in 1977 as an agent for NWNL ( now VOYA) in Minneapolis. In 1980, he formed Gary Wert and Associates, which later became Unison, Inc. In his 38 years in the benefit industry, he has been through lots of changes, including the introduction of Flex plans, COBRA, HMOs, Defined Contribution plans, HIPPA, HITECH and more. At the start of his career, health insurance rates were $40 per month for an individual and $140 per month for a family. In 2012 Unison merged with Gallagher Benefit Services and Gary retired as a benefit broker. Gary holds a BA from the University of Minnesota.
In his current role as president at Apprize, Gary now focuses on adding to the value Apprize brings to employers and brokers.
Gary lives in Edina with his wife Launa. He enjoys hunting, fishing and golf. For Gary, there is nothing more enjoyable than hunting pheasants on a beautiful fall day with his yellow lab, Callie.

barb reimer 

Barbara Reimer (Managing Director)

 Barb has more than 15 years of experience with employee benefits and benefits technology solutions and helped to found Apprize. Prior to joining Apprize, Barb worked in the employee benefits field at Unison, Inc. She has a BA in English and Communication from the College of St. Benedict.
In her current role at Apprize, Barb directs the sales and marketing efforts of the organization. She enjoys working with broker partners to help them build and deliver successful technology solutions to their clients.
Barb is the proud mom of Ella,3 and Luke, 1. In her free time, she enjoys tennis and walking around the Minneapolis Lakes. She also enjoys traveling with her husband Robb, especially to the North Shore of Lake Superior and to the mountains of Austria.

melissa brown 

Melissa Brown (Client Services Manager)

 Melissa brings over 15 years of experience in Employee Benefits and Human Resources to her role as Client Services Manager. Prior to joining Apprize, Melissa gained valuable experience on two other sides of the industry, working as an HR administrator for a 25,000 employee company and for a benefits enrollment software development company. In her role at Apprize, Melissa manages the Account Executive team, ensuring that all clients receive outstanding service and support. Melissa has worked first hand to successfully implement numerous large organizations on our systems and has extensive expertise with EDI and payroll interface management.
For Melissa, being the busy mother of three children fills up every moment of spare time, from summer softball games, football games and dance classes; to family game nights and BBQ. Melissa is also an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

deb kavlie 

Deb Kavlie (Office Manager)

 Deb has worked in numerous accounting/office management roles for the past 25 years and is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Business. In her current role at Apprize, Deb oversees the accounting, office management and enrollment operations of the company. Deb loves the outdoors. In her spare time, she likes to spend time at the lake with family, garden, travel and check out the latest restaurants in the Twin Cities. She is married and has two grown children.

john michaels 

John Michaels (Sales Consultant)

 John brings over 15 years of in-depth knowledge in the employee benefits and insurance industry to his role as Sales Consultant. John has a long track record of successfully utilizing his consultative sales background and industry expertise to build strong partnerships with brokers and the clients they serve.

In his role at Apprize, John will assist with business development efforts for the organization. At Apprize, we take a unique approach by offering three Benefit Administration solutions to better fit the needs of our brokers and clients. All of our solutions are fully supported by a team of benefit and technology experts.

John lives in Edina and enjoys golfing and working out. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter, who is a college sophomore.

david heidelberger 

David Heidelberger (Account Executive)

 David brings over 15 years of experience to his Account Executive role. Prior to joining Apprize, David worked in group insurance billing and managing the sales support team at Voya and worked as a Client Service Manager for a large payroll company. In his current role at Apprize, David is responsible for new client implementations and ongoing client support, service and training. In his free time, David likes traveling, getting out to see as many places as he can in the states or internationally, pursuing ongoing education, remodeling projects and checking out all of the new restaurants/bars around the Twin Cities.

kara mcconnell 

Kara McConnell (Account Executive)

 Kara has been in the employee benefit and insurance industry since 2007. Kara attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her role at Apprize, Kara works closely with clients from implementation through renewals and ongoing service and support.
Kara enjoys running and walking around the Minneapolis lakes, spending time with her family, being outdoors, and travelling.

 Ti brings over 13 years of experience in employee benefits and insurance industry to her Account Executive role. Ti a graduate of Mankato State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Marketing. In her current role at Apprize, Ti is responsible for new client implementations and renewals, as well as ongoing service and support. Ti enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking.

hope wolf 

Hope Wolf (Account Executive)

 Hope has been in the employee benefit and insurance industry since October of 2000. Prior to joining Apprize, Hope worked at Delta Dental of Minnesota for over 11 years and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare studies. In her current role as an Account Executive, Hope works closely with clients to ensure successful implementations and renewals and to ensure their success in using the system through support, service and training.
Originally from Northern Minnesota, Hope is happily married and the proud mother of two adult daughters and a teenage son. She was also recently blessed with her first grandson. In her free time, Hope enjoys crocheting, camping, walking reading and spending time with family.

brian leroux 

Brian LeRoux (Account Manager)

 Brian has over 8 years of experience in the healthcare industry working in medical records at Fairview Health Services and medical claims at Park Nicollet Clinic. Prior to that he was a youth sports photographer throughout the greater metro area and helped manage a deli in La Jolla, CA.
As an Account Manager Brian is here to answer any and all questions from clients as well help implement enrollments.
Outside of work Brian enjoys going to concerts, trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending any free time with his bulldog Roxy Pancakes. He is an obsessive music fan and is running out of room in his house for the records he collects.

lea mineao 

Lea Mineo (Account Manager)

 Lea has over 3 years of experience in employee benefits and insurance, having previously worked for an insurance broker and bswift reseller. Lea attended the Southern CT State University and has her Bachelor of Science in Biology.
In her role at Apprize, Lea works closely with clients from implementation through renewals and ongoing service and support.
Lea enjoys the beach, spending time with her family and friends, trying new restaurants in new places and reading.

tasha rostvit 

Tasha Rostvit (Account Manager)

 Tasha brings over 17 years of project coordination and customer service. In her current role at Apprize, Tasha works closely with clients to provide day to day support and to ensure their success in using the system through support, service and training.

During her free time, Tasha enjoys time at the lake during the summer months with her two children. She and her husband also enjoy spending time on their boat on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. The family spends much of the winter watching hockey, between her son’s youth hockey games or watching high school and junior league games.

EDI and Business Analyst Team:

cori holt 

Cori Holt (EDI Manager)

 Cori brings over 18 years of experience in Information Technology to her role as EDI Manager. Prior to joining Apprize, Cori worked 11 years for Valspar in various IT roles. Her most recent was as a Data Architect working to implement a world-class business intelligence system to allow analysis of internal and external data related to Financials. In her current role with Apprize, Cori is designing and implementing an EDI department to facilitate the electronic transmission of enrollment data to carriers. She is excited to be on the fore-front of this new endeavor.

In her free time, which is a bit limited with the addition of a little one in recent years, she enjoys playing board games and attending the softball and football games of her extended family.

andy kratoska 

Andy Kratoska (Business Analyst)

 Andy brings 7 years of experience to his Business Analyst position. In his current role, Andy assists in the ongoing support by performing audits for the clients to ensure that the carriers are as up to date as possible. In addition, Andy also provides bill reconciliation to clients.

In his spare time, Andy stays busy with his 2 year old daughter, Rylie, and he loves watching her grow up.

danielle mitchell 

Danielle Mitchell (Business Analyst)

 Danielle brings a vigorous energy to the Apprize team. Originally starting as an Audit Reconciliation Analyst in 2013, Danielle now primarily handles EDI file implementation, coding, testing, and production. Additionally, she supports the Account Executive team with technical projects that come their way.
Danielle holds a BS in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Bentley and Watson, and playing board games and tennis with her husband.

jenn resop 

Jenn Resop (Sr. Enrollment Specialist)

 Jenn bring 8 years of service in the employee benefits and insurance industry. Prior to joining Apprize, Jenn worked for pharmaceutical research company handling their study information. In her current role at Apprize, Jenn leads our enrollment team. The enrollment team moves the information from the system to the carriers. In her free time, Jenn keeps busy with her 3 daughter’s activities and sports. She is enjoys going camping with her daughters and enjoying the time outdoors. Jenn volunteers face painting for community/fundraising events and she also does the make up design for a local community theater.
