Main Responsibility (purpose/objective)
Apprize Technology is looking for a dynamic Business Development representative with a proven track record of success in uncovering opportunities and generating new business. This role will identify and cultivate new business opportunities by leveraging exceptional communication skills to establish lasting connections with clients and stakeholders. This role will involve managing and following a consistent sales process for prioritizing opportunities, qualifying potential new clients, understanding client’s business drivers, and building relationships.
This Business Development position will control their own success in our business growth by driving revenue through proactively targeting and building strategic relationships with existing and new clients.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prospecting
- Research and establishing a list of key sales targets.
- Uses multiple communication avenues to build awareness and connect with potential prospects.
- Qualifies and identifies which clients are not a fit for Apprize based on ideal client criteria.
- Asks for introductions and leverage referrals.
- Attends industry conferences, events, and trade shows to gain access to new contacts, generate interest and learn more about current trends in the industry.
- Diligent and proactive following up and staying connected with key networking partners and prospects.
- Leading Discovery
- Asks effective questions and demonstrates general business acumen to uncover the client’s current situation, desired situation, business drivers, application needs and decision making processes to fully understand what the client needs in order to recommend the best solution.
- Differentiates Apprize from competitors by identifying key areas that are important to the prospect.
- In strategic opportunities, coordinates and drives a team selling approach to further develop the relationship and to present more complex solutions.
- Closing new business and meeting assigned revenue targets
- Creates a sense of urgency to close the opportunities.
- Successfully asks for the sale and closes new business without always relying on leadership to assist.
- Throughout the sales process, gains commitments from the customer along the way, to make the final solution one that fits the customer’s needs.
- Has proven success in closing new business and displacing the competition.
- Sales Planning
- Executes the sales plan and communicates progress against the plan – this includes being fully prepared for and engaged in 1:1 meetings with manager.
- Manages and progresses a qualified pipeline of opportunities by prioritizing opportunities.
- Focuses activities on the best prospects.
- Begins building strategic relationships within targeted accounts.
- Develop a collaborative working relationship with all Apprize divisions and product leaders.
- Data Capture, Forecasting, and Pipeline
- Gathers and documents helpful institutional knowledge in Hubspot on every interaction.
- Provide management with timely and accurate forecast and pipeline reports.
- Maintain proficiency in MS office suite.
- Following company policies and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
- 3-5 years sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated success meeting sales goals and growing sales
- Experience or knowledge in the employee benefits, payroll, benefits admin, and/or flex and Cobra administration a plus
- Knowledge of general networking helpful
- PC proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) required
